The Musketeers look to close out the 2026 season with a win over the Aztecs.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier lacrosse team welcomes San Diego State to the Midwest in the regular season finale for both teams.
XU is coming off a 19-1 loss to No. 18 Denver last Saturday in Colorado. Lily Hayes scored the Musketeers' lone goal and her sixth of the season.
The Aztecs face Cincinnati on Friday afternoon in the Queen City to cap their Big 12 season. SDSU dropped its home finale last weekend to Arizona State, 15-8.
Xavier looks to match its program-best four wins in a season. The Musketeers posted back-to-back four win seasons in their first two seasons of competition in 2023 and 2024.
First draw is set for 12:00 p.m. at Corcoran Field on Sunday afternoon. The game will be streamed on Xavier+.Â

- Megan Droney leads the team with 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists. The junior has contributed at least one point in all but two games this season.
- Samantha Balara follows up with 30 points behind a team-high 23 goals. The redshirt junior ranks eighth in the league for her 5.00 shots per game.
- Jada Brandon became the all-time saves leader at Xavier with her 226 saves and counting. The senior ranks second in the league with 31 saves per game and third with a .438 save percentage.
- Colby Wasson anchors Xavier's defense with her 43 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers. She is second in the BIG EAST at 2.69 ground balls per game and fourth with 1.81 caused turnovers per game.
- Mya Miller has recorded a team-high 27Â draw controls. She tallied a career-high eight draw controls in the Musketeers' BIG EAST win over Butler on April 1.
- Head coach Brittney Morris picked up her first win as a Division I head coach on Feb. 20 in the 13-6 victory over Mercyhurst. She is in her first season at the helm of Xavier lacrosse after leading Division III St. Mary's College of Maryland to four-straight United East conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
- Morris retained 20 players from last year's squad with the addition of five transfers and seven newcomers.
- Samantha Balara, Catherine Gurd and Katelyn McDonnell were named the 2026 team captains.

- Keira Doyle-Odebach was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team and currently leads the Aztecs with 29 goals.
- Mia Maechtel has a team-high 39 points on 26 goals and 13 assists. The sophomore has scored in all but one game for SDSU this season.
- Goalkeeper Caitlin Boughton ranks third in the Big 12 for her 7.07 saves per game and second for her 2.00 ground balls per game.
