Men’s Soccer Adds Ellison Ruffin to 2025 Roster

The defender joins the Musketeers from Oviedo, Fla.
CINCINNATI - Xavier head men's soccer coach John Higgins announced the addition of Ellison Ruffin to the 2025 roster on Saturday.
"Ellison reminds me a lot of the two center backs we just had drafted," said Higgins. "He physically has all the tools needed to play at the next level. We are excited to work with him to develop his decision-making skills and defensive positioning. We feel like he has a big upside and are looking forward to seeing his development as a Musketeer."
Ruffin was a four-year letterwinner at Oviedo HS in Oviedo, Fla. He spent time as a striker and center back, recording 44 goals and 19 assists during her career. Ruffin helped his team post a 39-21-11 overall record.
The 6-foot-4 defender was a two-time All-District First-Team selection and was named his high school's player of the year twice. He also played five years of ECNL soccer and eight years at FKK.
Ruffin was a three-time ECNL All-Conference First-Team selection and led his squad to the 2024 ECNL Conference Cup All-Star Championship. He was also named to the 2024 ECNL Conference Cup Best XI.
