Musketeers host Hoyas at 5 PM at Eastern Hills
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier women's tennis is set to host BIG EAST foe Georgetown, on Saturday, March 22, set for a 5:00 p.m. start at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

GEORGETOWN
- The Hoyas are 6-6 on the season and 3-2 against BIG EAST opponents, taking wins over Marquette, Providence and Seton Hall, while falling to DePaul and UConn.
- Georgetown went 8-13 overall and 4-2 in BIG EAST action last year, falling to St. John's in the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals.
- Xavier enters the weekend on a five-match win streak against the Hoyas, last facing Georgetown in the 2022 BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals, a 4-1 win for Xavier.

- Xavier heads to Dayton to face the Flyers on Wednesday, March 26, set for an 11:00 a.m. start.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier women's tennis fell in a pair of matches at the University of Miami on Monday, March 10, falling 4-0 in the first one and 6-1 in match two.
- In doubles in match one, Abby Nugent and Clara Owen fell on No. 1, 6-0, and Emily Flowers and Sofia Mazzucato fell, 6-2, on No. 3 to take the point.
- Miami made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-3 win on the No. 2 singles court against Abby Nugent. A 6-0, 6-0 win over Elizabeth Pendergast on the No. 1 court made it a 3-0 lead. The Hurricanes clinched match one at 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Madeleine Rexroat on court No. 3.
- In the second match, Miami took a 6-1 win over Emily Flowers and Sofia Mazzucato on the No. 3 court and a 7-5 win against Abby Nugent and Clara Owen to take the doubles point.
- The Hurricanes took a 6-0, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court against Abby Nugent to make it a 2-0 lead and extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win on the No. 3 court against Madeleine Rexroat. Miami clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Natalie Smitek on the No. 5 court. The Hurricanes picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Elizabeth Pendergast on No. 2 to make it a 5-0 lead. Emily Flowers battled to a third set on the No. 4 court, picking up the win, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6). Abigiail Siminski fell on No. 6, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8), to set the final score at 6-1.
THE MUSKETEERS
- The Musketeers are looking for their fifth-straight, and sixth overall, BIG EAST Championship, and look to make a return trip to the NCAA Championship.
- Xavier returned six student-athletes from last year's BIG EAST Championship roster including juniors Emily Flowers, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski as well as sophomores Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato and senior transfer Elizabeth Pendergast, who made her debut as a Musketeer this fall. Xavier also added a trio of freshmen to the roster, Clara Owen, Madeleine Rexroat and Natalie Smitek.
- Xavier wrapped up the fall schedule with Abby Nugent and Clara Owen becoming the first players in program history to compete in doubles at the NCAA Individual Championships. The pair earned the bid after advancing to the finals of the ITA Conference Masters Championships.
- Madeleine Rexroat also took part in the ITA Conference Masters Championships, representing the BIG EAST in singles. Elizabeth Pendergast and Emily Flowers competed at the ITA Sectional Championships as a doubles team, with Pendergast also playing in the singles draw.
