CINCINNATI --- Xavier University men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletic aid agreement from 7-0 forward Pape N'Diaye, who played in 32 games as a freshman at UNLV. N'Diaye, who was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, came to the U.S. in 2022 and played prep basketball at Trinity International High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"We are excited about the addition of Pape," said Pitino. "We recruited him out of high school and went against him twice last year. He's a great athlete with a high motor. He's got tremendous upside and will fit our style of play."
N'Diaye played in 32 games as a freshman, starting once, and averaged 2.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 13.1 minutes per game. N'Diaye shot 61.7 percent (37-60) from the field. He scored a season-high 11 points in a win over Fresno State on Dec. 28 and registered at least one block in 24 of his 32 games, including nine games with at least two blocks.
