Men's Tennis Hosts Marquette and No. 41 Arkansas this Weekend

Musketeers take on Golden Eagles on Friday at Eastern Hills, Razorbacks on Saturday at Camargo Racquet Club
CINCINNATI - The Musketeers wrap up the regular season this weekend, hosting Marquette on Friday, April 11, at Eastern Hills, set for a 5 PM start with Senior Day to follow. On Saturday, Xavier will head to Camargo Racquet Club to host No. 41 Arkansas at 7:00 p.m.
MARQUETTE
- The Golden Eagles are 3-17 overall, with a BIG EAST win over Vilanova and losses to DePaul, St. John's, Georgetown and Creighton.
- Marquette went 4-17 last season, with a 0-7 mark in BIG EAST play, falling to St. John's in the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals.
- Xavier took the 4-1 win over the Golden Eagles last season in Milwaukee, the Musketeers' third-straight win in the series.
ARKANSAS
- The No. 41 ranked Razorbacks are 16-11 overall and 4-8 in SEC play. They'll face No. 50 Vanderbilt on Thursday and No. 36 Kentucky on Saturday at noon.
- Arkansas went 21-12 last season, falling in the SEC Tournanent Quarterfinals. The Razorbacks earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, falling to No. 35 Cornell in the first round.
- This is the first match-up between the two programs.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Next week, the Musketeers will travel to Cayce, S.C. for the BIG EAST Championships, set to begin on Thursday, April 17.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier men's tennis fell, 4-3, to DePaul on Sunday evening at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
- In doubles, Xavier picked up a 6-3 decision on the No. 1 court for Ryan Cahill and Pascal Mosberger, the pair's fourth win in the No. 1 doubles spot. Kyle Totorica and Charlie Temming picked up their second doubles win of the weekend to clinch the point with a 7-6 (4) win on the No. 3 court.
- DePaul evened the score at 1-1 with the first doubles win, a 6-0, 6-2 win on court No. 3 against Alex Kotarski, but a 6-1, 7-5 win for Pascal Mosberger on the No. 2 court put the Musketeers back in front, 2-1.
- Andrew Spurck made it a 3-1 Xavier lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win on the No. 6 court, his ninth singles win of the dual season.
- The Blue Demons took a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win on the No. 4 court against Christian Gonzalez, a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win on court No. 1 against Ryan Cahill and a 5-7, 7-5, 6-0 win on the No. 5 court against Kyle Totorica to move in front and take the 4-3 win.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns six letter-winners from last year's squad, including All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Ryan Cahill.
- The Musketeer also return Christian Gonzalez, Pascal Mosberger, Marco Pennelli, Charlie Temming and Kyle Totorica.
- Xavier also added a pair of freshmen, Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
