Game two set for 7 PM ET in Omaha on Saturday

OMAHA, Neb. - Xavier baseball put together a ninth-inning rally in game one at Creighton, but fell, 6-3, at Charles Schwab Field Omaha on Friday evening. Xavier moved to 29-22 overall and 13-6 in BIG EAST play.

Creighton took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, and made it a 6-0 lead with a three run seventh inning.

Connor Misch led off the ninth with his third hit of the day, and moved to second on a single from Isaac Wachsmann and scored on a double from Aedan Anderson. A single from Jason Jelic brought in Wachsmann and Anderson to cut the lead to 6-3, but the Musketeers were unable to drive in another run, falling by three.

Game two with the Bluejays is set for a 7:00 p.m ET start on Saturday evening on FloCollege.

AT THE PLATE

Connor Misch went 3-4 at the plate, scoring a run in the ninth inning.
Aedan Anderson finished 2-4 with a double, driving in an RBI and scoring a run.
Jason Jelic finished with two RBI on a ninth inning single, going 2-4 at the plate.
Isaac Wachsmann went 2-4 with a run scored.
Luke Hammond also recorded a hit as the Musketeers finished with a 10-6 advantage on hits for the day

Logan Schmidt made the start, going 5.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks, striking out five.
Ashton Chronister entered for the sixth, finishing with three runs, all unearned, in 1.0 inning, on one hit, striking out one.
Joseph Chavana entered with the bases loaded and no outs in the seventh, going 1.0 innings without allowing a n earned run, finishing with a strikeout.
Jack DeTienne entered for the eighth, pitching a 1-2-3 frame and picking up a pair of strikeouts.
