Men's Tennis Travels to a Pair of Tournaments to Open Fall Schedule

Musketeers will split squads between Louisville Invite and YSU Invite
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier men's tennis opens up the Fall tournament schedule this weekend, with the squad splitting up to head to a pair of tournaments. Four Musketeers will head to the Louisville Invitational, running Sept. 12-14, while the remaining four Musketeers will head to the Youngstown State Invitational, set to run Sept. 13-14.

LOUISVILLE INVITATIONAL
- The Louisville Invitational runs from Friday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 14, beginning at 9 am ET. Â
- It will feature singles and doubles matches and be played on both indoor and outdoor courts at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center with weather permitting.Â
- Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Xavier, Eastern Kentucky, Belmont, Bellarmine and Louisville will have athletes competing at the tournament.
- Four of the nine teams competing finished the 2025 season ranked in the ITA team poll: Tennessee (15), Kentucky (29), Illinois (33) and Louisville (64).
- Bode Campbell, Samuel Frizelle, Lukas Grossman and Max Pettingell are set to travel to the Louisville Invite.
Youngstown State Invitational
- The YSU Invitational gets underway on Saturday, Sept. 13 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 14.
- Case Western, Duquesne, Edinboro, Xavier and Youngstown State will have student-athletes competing at the tournament.
- Nick Herdoiza, Alex Kotarski, Andrew Spurck and Kyle Totorica are set to take part in the YSU Invitational.Â

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- The Musketeers will travel to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio to take part in the James O'Connell Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dayton. The tournament is running from Friday, Sept 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns a trio from last year's squad that collected 10 wins and advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals, senior Kyle Totorica, and sophomores Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
- The Musketeers added three transfers to the roster, senior Samuel Frizelle, who transferred from Florida Southern, junior Nick Herdoiza, who comes to Xavier from Northwestern, and Max Pettingell, a redshirt-freshman coming from Auburn.
- Xavier also added a pair of freshmen to the roster, Bode Campbell, a four-star recruit out of Bloomington, Minn., and Lukas Grossman, a four-star from Atlanta.
