The Musketeers finished the first half with a 7-2 advantage on shots, and a 4-2 advantage on shots on frame, but the match went into halftime tied at 1-1.
- The tie held into the 62nd minute, when the Musketeers moved in front, 2-1, after the ball bounced in off an IU player following a Xavier corner kick. The Hoosiers responded less than two minutes later, tying the match at 2-2 on a penalty kick.
- After IU equalized, the Musketeers outshot the Hoosiers, 6-0, in the final 27 minutes, but were unable to find the go-ahead goal, setting the final score at 2-2.
