Chelsea Loeser scores her third of the season; Elin Hansson knocks in her seventh
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier women's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to five matches with a 2-0 win over Chattanooga at Corcoran Field on Thursday evening. The Musketeers moved to 4-2-1, while the Mocs dropped to 5-2-1.
Xavier got on the board in the 21st minute, when Chelsea Loeser scored from Samantha Erbach to give Xavier the 1-0 lead. The Musketeers had a 10-1 advantage on shots in the first half, and a 3-1 advantage on looks on goal. Regan Dancer led the Musketeers with four first half-shots.
Less than five minutes into the second half, Elin Hansson scored for a fourth-straight match, off a pass from Reese Slater, to make it a 2-0 Xavier lead.
The Musketeers limited the Mocs to just two shots in the second half, out-shooting UTC 15-2 in the second period. Maria Galley collected Chattanooga's lone shot on goal after halftime for the shutout, Xavier's third of the season.
Xavier remains at home to host Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday, Sept. 17. The Musketeers and the Redhawks get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Xavier+.

- Xavier finished with a 25-3 advantage on shots overall and a 7-2 advantage on shots on-frame. Regan Dancer finished with a team-high five shots and Cameron Goddard had four.
- Maria Galley made the start in-goal, playing over 78 minutes and collecting two saves for the partial shutout. Taylor Thomas played the final 12 minutes to help the Musketeers keep the clean sheet intact.
- Xavier has gone 4-0-1 over the past five matches, outscoring opponents 20-4 over that stretch.
