Musketeers Sweep Xavier Tournament to Remain Undefeated

Emma Grace was named MVP after recording 15+ kills in all three matches.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team defeated Eastern Kentucky, 3-1, on Saturday night to close out the Xavier Tournament with a 3-0 record.
Emma Grace led the Musketeers offensively and notched a double-double in all three matches to earn the Tournament MVP title.
Anna Taylor was named to the All-Tournament Team for her three double-digit kill performances while maintaining a .407 hitting percentage.
McKinley Boehm averaged 1.46 blocks per set across all three matches to also earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The Musketeers improve to 6-0 with the weekend sweep while the Colonels fall to 4-2. Xavier is one of just 39 teams in the nation that are still undefeated.

- Emma Grace recorded her fifth straight double-double with 16 kills and 13 digs. The redshirt senior averaged 4.54 kills and 4.08 digs throughout the weekend.
- Charlotte Moriarty notched her second straight double-double on 12 kills and a career-high 17 digs.
- Anna Taylor rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 kills and two blocks, averaging 3.08 kills per set over the weekend.
- McKinley Boehm had a career-high nine kills with zero errors for a .600 clip to go along with three blocks. The rookie leads the BIG EAST with 1.46 blocks per set.
- Kelsey Niesen had 15 digs and continues to rank third in the league with 4.42 digs per set.
- Julia Grace recorded a career-high three aces and picked up six digs as a defensive specialist.
- Macy Hatkevich tabbed 42 assists and five kills to lead the Musketeers' offense to a .228 clip.
- Xavier's 6-0 record is the best start to the season since the Musketeers went 7-0 in 2007, the last time XU made the NCAA Tournament.
- The Musketeers have combined for 67 blocks as opposed to opponents' 35 blocks.
- Xavier leads the BIG EAST with a .149 opponent hitting percentage.
