Men's Tennis Falls at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - Xavier men's tennis fell at Ball State, 5-2, to open the Spring dual season on Saturday afternoon.

The Musketeers return to action on Sunday, January 18, traveling to Columbus, Ohio, to face No. 6 Ohio State, set for a 2:00 p.m. start.

The Match

In doubles, Max Pettingell and Alex Kotarski combined to take a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court, but a 6-3 win for BSU on the No. 2 court, over Nick Herdoiza and Samuel Frizelle, and a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court, against Andrew Spurck and Kyle Totorica, clinched the doubles point for the Cardinals.

In singles play, Nick Herdoiza picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 1 court, while Max Pettingell took a 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4 win on the No. 4 court.

The Cardinals picked up wins on the No. 2 court, 6-1, 7-5, against Samuel Frizelle, the No. 3 court, 6-3, 6-2, against Alex Kotarski, on the No. 5 court, 7-6 (7-0), 6-3, against Bode Campbell, and on No. 6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, against Kyle Totorica, to set the final score at 5-2.
