Men's Tennis Takes Comeback Win at Northern Illinois

Xavier wraps up a three-match road trip to Illinois on Sunday, taking on Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. ET.

In doubles, Max Pettingell and Nick Herdoiza combined for a 6-2 win on the No. 1 court for the first decision. NIU picked up a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court against Kyle Totorica and Bode Campbell, then clinched the point on the No. 2 court with a 6-4 win against Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck for the 1-0 lead.
Spurck evened the match at 1-1 after picking up the first singles decision, a 6-0, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court. The Huskies retook the lead with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Nick Herdoiza on the No. 1 court, and made it a 3-1 lead with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Max Pettingell on the No. 2 court.
Kyle Totorica's 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 6 court pulled Xavier within 3-2, and Alex Kotarski's three-set win on the No. 3 court, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, tied the match at 3-3.
On the final court, Bode Campbell took a three-set victory 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, to win the No. 5 court, giving the Musketeers the 4-3 win.
