Men's Basketball Will Host Marquette On Valentine's Day At Cintas Center

Xavier is playing the first of two-straight games at home.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 12-12 overall and 4-9 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the Marquette University Golden Eagles, 9-16 overall and 4-10 in the BIG EAST, on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Cintas Center. Xavier is coming off an 87-82 overtime loss to No. 17 St. John's on Monday at Madison Square Garden.

Graduate student Tre Carroll, who leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.0 ppg., has scored 20 points or more in six of the last seven games. He passed the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career on Monday.

• Xavier graduate student Tre Carroll leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.0 ppg. and is third in field goal percentage at 50.1 percent. He is second on the team and 10th in the league in rebounding (5.7 rpg.) and first on the team and sixth in blocks (1.3 bpg.).
• Xavier senior Malik Messina-Moore is second on the team in scoring for BIG EAST games at 14.2 ppg., which ranks 13th in the league. He is tied for seventh in the BIG EAST in assists at 3.6 apg. and fifth in the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.49.
• Xavier's Tre Carroll passed the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career during his 21-point game at St. John's on Monday. Teammate Malik Messina-Moore passed the 1,000-point mark earlier this season.
