Musketeers set to face Cleveland State, NKU next weekend

RICHMOND, Ky. - Xavier men's tennis fell, 4-3, at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday evening.

The Musketeers open up the home schedule next weekend, hosting Cleveland State on Friday, Feb. 13. Xavier is also set to host Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The Match

In doubles, Xavier took the first decision, with Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck taking a 6-2 win on the No. 2 court. EKU picked up a 6-4 win on the No. 1 court against Nick Herdoiza and Max Pettingell and then clinched the point on the No. 3 court with a a 7-6 (4) win against Bode Campbell and Samuel Frizelle.

EKU took a 6-1, 6-1 win against Max Pettingell on the No. 1 court and a 6-2, 6-0 win on the No. 2 court against Samuel Frizelle to take a 3-0 lead.

Alex Kotarski picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 3 court to cut EKU's lead to 3-1. Andrew Spurck fell in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 on court No. 4 to clinch the match for the Colonels at 4-1.

Bode Cambell took court No. 5, 6-3, 6-1, and Lukas Grossman won No. 6, 6-4, 7-5, to set the final score at 4-3.
