Xavier to face Blue Demons on Friday, Cougars on Saturday

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis travels to Chicago for a pair of matches, starting with DePaul on Friday, March 20, set for a 2:15 p.m. ET start. The Musketeers will then face Chicago State on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m. ET.

DEPAUL

The Blue Demons are 3-11 on the season, with a 1-0 mark in BIG EAST play, topping Butler, 4-3, on Feb. 22.
DePaul went 13-11 overall last season with a 4-2 mark in BIG EAST matches during the regular season to earn the No. 4 seed in the league tournament. The Blue Demons fell to No. 5 seed Georgetown in the BIG EAST Championships.
The programs faced each other last season with DePaul taking a 4-3 win in Cincinnati.

CHICAGO STATE

The Cougars are 1-12 on the season, taking a win over Southern University.
Chicago State went 1-11 last season with an 0-8 mark in Horizon League play.
The two programs last face each other in 2019, with Xavier taking a 4-3 win in East Lansing, Mich.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

The Musketeers head to Louisville next weekend to face Bellarmine on Saturday, March 28, set for a 12 p.m. start.
Xavier returns home the following weekend to host Creighton on Friday, April 3, then travel to Dayton on Saturday, April 4 to face the Flyers.

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns a trio from last year's squad that collected 10 wins and advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals, senior Kyle Totorica, and sophomores Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
The Musketeers added three transfers to the roster, senior Samuel Frizelle, who transferred from Florida Southern, junior Nick Herdoiza, who comes to Xavier from Northwestern, and Max Pettingell, a redshirt-freshman coming from Auburn.
Xavier also added a pair of freshmen to the roster, Bode Campbell, a four-star recruit out of Bloomington, Minn., and Lukas Grossman, a four-star from Atlanta.
