Musketeers and Huskies wrap up series on Sunday at noon
STORRS, Conn. - Xavier baseball fell, 8-0 in game two of three at Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark, moving to 0-2 in the series with the Huskies.
The Musketeers moved to 8-20Â (0-2 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Huskies improved to 14-14 (2-0 BIG EAST).
UConn took a 2-0 lead on a pair of solo home runs in the second, then added a pair in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead. Runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth doubled the lead to 8-0 for the Huskies.
The Huskies' starting pitcher, Cayden Suchy, took a no-hitter into the seventh inning when Jonathan Fitz broke it up with a single. Suchy allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out 10 in 8.0 scoreless innings. The Musketeers got on with a pair of walks in the ninth but were unable to get a run across, setting the final score at 8-0.
 The series with the Huskies concludes on Sunday, set for a 12:05 p.m. start on ESPN+.
