Women's Tennis Hosts Butler for Senior Day

Musketeers take on Bulldogs at 2 PM at Lindner Family Tennis Center
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis wraps up the regular season by hosting Butler on Saturday, April 11 for Senior Day at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Following the match, Xavier will honor seniors Emily Flowers, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski.
The Musketeer women will play on courts 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18. Fans will be able to park and enter through the North Gate. Â

BUTLER
- The Bulldogs are 5-16 overall with an 0-3 record in BIG EAST matches, falling to UConn, DePaul and Marquette.
- Butler went 9-13 last season with a 4-3 mark in conference play. BU topped Providence in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament before falling to St. John's in the Quarterfinals.
- Xavier took a 7-0 win over the Bulldogs last season, the Musketeers' 13th-straight win over Butler.

WEEKLY AWARDS
- Xavier women's tennis swept the BIG EAST Weekly Awards on the women's side after picking up a pair of conference wins over the weekend. Madeleine Rexroat was named BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week, while Abby Nugent and Clara Owen repeated as Doubles Team of the Week after topping Marquette and DePaul, making it five-straight wins and keeping the Musketeers undefeated in conference play.
- Rexroat, a sophomore from Milton, Ga., went 2-0 in the No. 2 singles spot over the weekend. She picked up the first singles decision in the 7-0 sweep of Marquette, making it a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win on the No. 2 court. Against DePaul, Rexroat came back to take a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win on court No. 2, clinching the 4-3 win, DePaul's first loss in conference action.Â
- Rexroat, ranked No. 121 in the most recent ITA Singles Rankings, now has 10 singles wins on the season. This is her second honor of the season, also earning Singles Player of the Week on 2/23.
- Nugent, a senior from Springboro, Ohio, and Owen, a sophomore from Dayton. Ohio, went 2-0 in No. 1 doubles spot as the Musketeers went 2-0 against BIG EAST teams. In 7-0 sweep at Marquette, the duo combined to take a 6-3 win in No. 1 doubles to clinch the point. At DePaul, the pair took a 6-1 win on the No. 1 doubles court.
- The duo has won nine in a row and have 12 wins on the season. This is the second-straight week the pair has picked up the honor and the fourth time this season, also earning it the weeks of of 2/9, 3/16 and 3/30.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Xavier travels to Cayce, S.C., to take part in the 2026 BIG EAST Championship, running Thursday, April 16, through Sunday, April 19.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns eight players from last season's BIG EAST Championship winning squad, including senior Abby Nugent, a 2025 All-BIG EAST First Team selection, and 2025 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Madeleine Rexroat.Â
- Sophomore Clara Owen, who partnered with Nugent as one of the top doubles team in the country, returns, as well as seniors Abigail Siminski and Emily Flowers, juniors Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato, and sophomore Natalie Smitek.
- The Musketeers added freshman Ella DeFord, a five-star recruit from Mount Pleasant, S.C., to the roster.
- Xavier finished the 2025 dual season at 14-9 and won the program's fifth-straight and sixth overall BIG EAST Championship, earning the program's sixth bid to the NCAA Championships.
