Nolan Brice scored Xavier's first goal of the season in the 33rd minute

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer opened the 2026 season with a 2-1 win over Purdue Fort Wayne at Corcoran Field on Thursday night.

Xavier continues its homestand on Tuesday, Aug. 25 vs Bellarmine. First touch is set for 7 p.m. from Corcoran Field.

NOTABLES

Nolan Brice scored his second career goal and his first since the 2024 season. Alejandro Silvestrini picked up his second career assist in a Xavier uniform on the goal.
Freshman Gerard Lorente scored his first career goal off a pass from Ely Detty. Detty now has two career assists.
Jonny Mennell (1-0) earned the win in goal. He made five saves on the night. Mennell now has a career record of 17-17-14 (his 17 wins rank fifth in school history; he is three wins away from moving into a three-way tie for third place).
Sep Habibi (0-1) took the loss in goal for Purdue Fort Wayne. The goalkeeper made five saves.
Gun Ha Lee paced the Musketeers with a match-high four shots (one on goal). Gerard Lorente added three shots (one on goal) and Ekene Okeke added two shots (two shots on goal). Seven different Musketeers recorded a shot in the match.
Jordan Rodgers led the Mastodons with two shots (two shots on goal).
