SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Osi Onwudiwe led the Musketeers to a 1-0 win at St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon at South Soccer Field.

The Musketeers improved to 4-0-1 on the year, while the Tommies moved to 3-3-2.

Xavier opens BIG EAST action at DePaul on Friday, Sept. 18. First touch is set for 4 p.m. ET from Wish Field.

NOTABLES

Sophomore midfielder Osi Onwudiwe scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute. The goal was the first of his career (spent the 2025 season at Virginia Tech). Onwudiwe is the sixth different Musketeer to score a goal this season.
Gerard Lorente was credited with an assist on the goal by Osi Onwudiwe, his second assist of the season. He is tied with Alejandro Silvestrini for the team lead in assists with two.
The Musketeers held a 16-2 advantage in shots and took seven more shots on goal (7-0). Xavier has taken a season-high 16 shots in three straight matches.
Xavier has held an opponent to only two shots for the second time this season (also held Bellarmine to two shots on Aug. 25). The Musketeers also held an opponent without a shot on goal for the second time this season (also held Bellarmine without a shot on goal on Aug. 25).
Eleven different Musketeers took a shot in the match, paced by Johnny Gourley and Jose Pedro who each had three shots. Merrick Schaefer and Cian Williams each took one shot for the Tommies.
Jonny Mennell (4-0-1) posted his third shutout of the season, increasing his school career record shutouts to 22. The goalkeeper now has a 0.60 goals against average this season. He has a 20-17-15 career record with 167 saves.
Moritz Krenc (3-3-2) allowed one goal and made a season-high six saves for St. Thomas.
The Musketeers have posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since Oct. 3 - Oct. 7, 2025. Xavier shutout Marquette and Wright State.
Xavier has not allowed a goal since Aug. 31 at Northwestern at the 80:50 mark. The Musketeers have gone 189:10 without allowing a goal.
Xavier remains unbeaten at 4-0-1, the longest unbeaten streak to start the season since 2022, when the Musketeers started the season at 9-0-5.
