Musketeers Host Akron Sunday Afternoon

CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball hosts Akron for a Sunday afternoon match up Sept. 20. First serve is set for 1 p.m. in Cintas Center.
The Musketeers are 6-4 this season following a 3-1 loss to Cincinnati Friday evening.

Margo Kemp had a season high 13 kills against the Bearcats with a .360 clip. Kemp totals 56 kills so far this season with an average hitting percentage of .305.

Macy Hatkevich had nine kills against Cincinnati for a season high. She hit .500 with 30 assists in the match. Hatkevich leads the Musketeers in assists with 229 so far this season.

Freshman duo Gabby Semona and Cami Sher each had at least four kills against Cincinnati.

Kelsey Niesen leads the Musketeers in digs with 170 total this season. She is averaging 4.59 digs per set in her junior year.

As a team, Xavier is outhitting all opponents .209 to .191. The Musketeers have 475 total kills this season compared to all opponents 438.

Akron was picked to finish seventh in the MAC in the league's preseason poll.

Delaney Gash leads the offensive efforts for the Zips with 110 kills this season, averaging 3.33 per set. Gash was named to the Preseason All-MAC Team.
