Brice, Williams Earn BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

NEW YORK - Nolan Brice was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, while Beckham Williams was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Gerard Lorente was also tabbed to the conference weekly honor roll.

The Musketeers posted a 2-0 record last week with two shutouts. The Musketeers outscored their opponents, 8-0, and took 39 more shots (50-11) - including 22 more shots on goal (25-3).

Brice scored two goals, including the game winner vs Villanova on Sept. 26. He logged 148 minutes over two matches.

Williams ranked second on the team in points last week with five (two goals, one assist). He took six shots (three on goal) in 167 minutes of action. The midfielder had one goal and one assist vs Wright State on Sept. 22 and scored in the 82nd minute vs Villanova on Sept. 29 to seal the BIG EAST victory.

Lorente led the conference in points last week with six (two goals, two assists). He took six shots (three on goal) in 157 minutes of action.

Xavier returns to action on Friday, Oct. 2 vs Marquette. First touch is set for 6:30 p.m. from Corcoran Field.
