Rated as a four-star prospect by Top Drawer Soccer, Maki played three years for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy and was named the U-18 program's most improved player after the 2014-15 season. Prior to his stint at IMG Academy, Maki played for the New York Red Bulls USDA team. He was also recruited by Boston College.
