Dave Franklin was promoted to assistant volleyball coach in the spring of 2015 after spending two years as a volunteer assistant coach with the Musketeers.
In two seasons with Xavier, he helped the team compile a 40-23 overall record and a 24-10 mark in BIG EAST play. The Musketeers posted a 12-4 record in their inaugural BIG EAST campaign in 2013.
Franklin assisted in mentoring six All-BIG EAST honorees, including five first-team selections. He has also helped coach five players to AVCA All-American honors in two seasons.
Prior to Xavier, Franklin was an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican from 2011-12. He was previously a varsity head coach for six years before his stop at Ohio Dominican.
At Lima Central Catholic HS (2006-08), his squads posted three district titles, two regional titles and one state championship in 2007. He was also named the 2008 OHSVCA Division III State Coach of the Year in addition to earing conference coach of the year honors on three occasions. All told, he posted a 119-32 overall record as a head coach.
Franklin was a four-year member of the men’s varsity volleyball team (2002-05) at the University of Findlay. He finished his career as the program’s career leader in hitting percentage.
Franklin earned a bachelor’s degree from in life science education from Findlay in 2005. The Kettering, Ohio native resides in Cincinnati with his wife Alisa.
