2011 ... played in 106 sets over 30 matches all of those matches as a senior ... named to the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup All-Tournament Team ... led the team in blocking with 1.05 blocks/set for 111 total blocks ... third on the squad in hitting percentage at .302 ... improved her serving, posting service aces for the first time in her career ... fourth on the team in kills with 193 on the season ... recorded a season-high 13 kills at George Washington on Oct. 9 ... passed a career-high 10 digs vs. Duquesne on Sept. 30.
2010 ... saw action in 84 sets over 26 matches, starting 22 times in her third season as a Musketeer ...named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team ...was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 12, helping Xavier go 2-0 against Temple and La Salle, averaging 1.86 blocks per set and 2.71 kills per set... was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week for Nov. 9, as she averaged a .564 hitting percentage as the Musketeers went 2-0 vs. Charlotte and Rhode Island, Matia tallied a career-high 16 kills to one error in 23 attempts (.652) in a 3-1 win at Charlotte on Nov. 5 followed by a match-high tying nine kills to two errors in 16 swings (.438) in XU's sweep of Rhode Island on Nov. 7... earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team, in the championship game vs. Dayton Matia recorded seven kills and four assisted blocks ... had a career high 9 assisted blocks at Temple on Oct. 9 ... lead the team with 98 blocks, averaging 1.17 blocks per set ... also lead the team with 11 solo blacks and 87 assisted blocks ... at one point in the season, Matia was ranked 43rd in the nation in blocks/set with 1.21/set which put her in second in the A-10
2009 ... played in all but one of the Musketeers' 32 matches in 2009, earning the starting nod 30 times ... led the team and ranked third in the A-10 in blocks with 96 total (17s/79a, 9.86/set) ... tied for the third-best attack percentage on the team (.270), averaging 1.66 kills per set on the season ... set a career-high with 10 kills in the first match of the season versus Murray State (8/28) and tied that high with 10 kills versus Duquesne on on OCt. 17 ... with five solo blocks versus George Washington (11/13), Matia set a new-career high and added four assisted blocks that day as well ... recorded a season-high seven assisted blocks on Oct. 10 at Fordham ... was named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll following the spring semester.
2008 ... played in 41 sets over 16 matches as a freshman, including five starts, but was plagued by injury for most of October and November ... finished her first season as a Musketeer with 41 kills and 40 blocks ... had a career match versus A-10 foe George Washington on Oct. 5, recording a career-high eight kills, a career-high eight assisted blocks along with a career-high tying one solo block.
High School ... a native of Westlake, Ohio, Matia played for Magnificat High School under head coach Mike Cannon ... as a middle blocker, she tallied 224 kills, 85 solo blocks and 148 assisted blocks her senior year ... helped lead her team to a regional title and state semifinals appearance her senior season ... was named the Plain Dealer Player of the Week and to the First Team All-District and Second Team All-Ohio ... played club ball for the Cleveland Volleyball Company.
