Musketeers Host Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday Night

CINCINNATI – Xavier women's basketball continues its 11-game homestand on Wednesday, Nov. 25 against Southeastern Louisiana. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
The Musketeers enter the contest with a 2-1 record, while Southeastern Louisiana is 0-5 on the year.
• Wednesday's meeting is the first in the series history between Xavier and Southeastern Louisiana.
• Xavier is coming off a 61-56 home win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 22 to move to 2-0 at Cintas Center this season.
• The Musketeers hit 42.9 percent of their shot attempts in the win and had 17 assists – the most assists by Xavier since posting 17 in a 91-72 win over Marquette on Feb. 6, 2015.
• Senior Aliyah Zantt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon for her on-court performance last week.
• Zantt averaged 13 points per game last week, highlighted by a 19-point performance in a 61-56 win against Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday. The guard was 6-for-12 from the floor in the win and 3-for-7 from behind the arc. She also scored seven points in a road loss at Michigan on Thursday.
• Zantt also added four rebounds, four assists and one steal on the week. She was also 6-for-7 from the foul line.
• Sophomore Marquia Turner scored a career-high 14 points on 4-for-7 shooting with four, three pointers in the win over Maryland Eastern Shore. The guard also dished out a career-high eight assists in the win, the most by a Xavier player since Ty O'Neill had eight versus High Point on Nov. 19, 2012. She also pulled down a career-high seven rebounds.
• Head coach Brian Neal is one win away from career win No. 200. He has posted a 199-69 overall record in 10 years as a head coach.
• Leah Schaefer matched her career high with 12 rebounds against Maryland Eastern Shore, becoming the first Xavier player with 10 or more rebounds in a game this season. The junior forward previously had 12 rebounds against Kansas on Nov. 29, 2013.
• Leah Schaefer is 6-for-10 from the floor this year and 3-for-4 from the foul line. The junior forward is also averaging a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game – ranking eighth in the BIG EAST.
• Xavier was 10-for-13 from the foul line against Maryland Eastern Shore. The Musketeers rank third in the BIG EAST in free-throw percentage, hitting 72.2 percent of their attempts. Raeshaun Gaffney leads the team in free throws made (11-for-14).
• Xavier returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 28 against Binghamton. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. from Cintas Center.
• The Lady Lions are 0-5 on the year with a 0-4 road record. Southeastern Louisiana has averaged 58.6 points per game, while surrendering 99.6 points per game.
• Taylin Underwood leads the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (5.2 rpg). Nanna Pool has added 10.8 points and five rebounds per game.
• Xavier was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll as announced at the conference's annual media day at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 14.
• Xavier will play 19 games at Cintas Center this season, the most in school history. The Musketeers previously set the record last year when they hosted 18 games, including two postseason tournament contests.
• Xavier has posted a 181-62 overall record at Cintas Center since the building opened in 2000.

• The BEDN launched in 2014-15 with its own branded channel on the FOX Sports GO app. The league is the first and only collegiate conference to be hosted on FOX's mobile platform, FOX Sports Go. The app provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go.
• Xavier will play four nationally broadcasts games this season via FOX. The Musketeers will play three games on FOX Sports 1 and one on FOX Sports 2.
• DePaul's McGrath-Phillips Arena will serve as the host site of the 2016 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament as voted on by the conference's athletic directors. The tournament will be held on March 5-8 in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of downtown Chicago.
