Xavier, Binghamton Set for Saturday Matinee

Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. from Cintas Center
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's basketball returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 28 against Binghamton. Tip-off is slate for 2 p.m. from Cintas Center.
The Musketeers are 3-1 on the year and coming off a 67-27 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday night. Binghamton is 2-3 this season, most recently falling at Canisius, 80-50, on Wednesday night.
Xavier and Binghamton have both played Michigan this season. The Bearcats lost, 90-62, on Nov. 14, while the Musketeers were defeated, 92-54, on Nov. 19.
• Xavier leads the all-time series with Binghamton, 1-0. The Musketeers won the first meeting, 89-71, on Nov. 22, 2014.
• The Musketeers had six players score in double figures in the win last season, paced by Briana Glover and Raeshaun Gaffney who both had 18 points. Xavier finished the game hitting 56.9 percent of its shot attempts, while also recording 16 assists.
• Head coach Brian Neal picked up his 200th career victory in the win over Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday. He has compiled a 200-69 record in 10 years as a head coach.
• Xavier held Southeastern Louisiana to 27 points, the fewest allowed by the Musketeers since defeating Maryville, 67-21, on Dec. 5, 1980. The 40-point win is also the largest margin of victory since Nov. 30, 2010 when the Musketeers topped Mississippi Valley State, 85-40.
• Xavier also pulled down 64 rebounds in the win, the second most in school history. The Musketeers had 68 rebounds against Wright State on Feb. 12, 1976. The 64 rebounds are the most by a BIG EAST team this season, while ranking sixth nationally.
• Anniina Äijänen pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in the win over Southeastern Louisiana. The 15 rebounds are the most in a game since Jenna Crittendon had 17 against Wright State on Dec. 15, 2012.
• Imani Partlow had a season-high 12 rebounds against Southeastern Louisiana. The freshman forward added eight points in 22 minutes of action off the bench.
• Xavier was 21-for-27 from the foul line versus Southeastern Louisiana. The Musketeers have hit 74.1 percent of their free throws this season to rank second in the BIG EAST.
• Xavier ranks third in the BIG EAST in scoring defense (58.0 ppg), field-goal percentage (.365) and first in rebounding margin (+7.8).
• Senior Aliyah Zantt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon for her on-court performance last week.
• Zantt averaged 13 points per game last week, highlighted by a 19-point performance in a 61-56 win against Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday. The guard was 6-for-12 from the floor in the win and 3-for-7 from behind the arc. She also scored seven points in a road loss at Michigan on Thursday.
• Zantt also added four rebounds, four assists and one steal on the week. She was also 6-for-7 from the foul line.
• Xavier returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 3 against Tennessee Tech. Tip-off is slated for noon as the game will serve as 'Field Trip Day'.
• Sophomore Marquia Turner scored a career-high 14 points on 4-for-7 shooting with four, three pointers in the win over Maryland Eastern Shore. The guard also dished out a career-high eight assists in the win, the most by a Xavier player since Ty O'Neill had eight versus High Point on Nov. 19, 2012. She also pulled down a career-high seven rebounds.
• Xavier was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll as announced at the conference's annual media day at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 14.
• Xavier will play 19 games at Cintas Center this season, the most in school history. The Musketeers previously set the record last year when they hosted 18 games, including two postseason tournament contests.
• Xavier has posted a 182-62 overall record at Cintas Center since the building opened in 2000.

• DePaul's McGrath-Phillips Arena will serve as the host site of the 2016 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament as voted on by the conference's athletic directors. The tournament will be held on March 5-8 in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of downtown Chicago.
