Musketeers look to move to 3-0-1 all-time against Pirates
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer (6-7-1; 0-4-0 BE) heads back out on the road on Sunday, traveling to South Orange, N.J. to face Seton Hall. The match with the Pirates is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.

• Seton Hall is coming off a 4-0 loss at Creighton on Oct. 6, moving the Pirates to 4-7-1 overall and 0-4-0 in BIG EAST play.

• SHU opened the season 2-1, picking up a pair of wins over Army West Point and Quinnipiac after falling to Saint Joseph's in the season opener.
• The Pirates also picked up non-conference wins against Albany and Cornell, as well as earning a result in a 1-1 double overtime draw against Columbia.Â
• SHU fell to Fordham and Monmouth in non-conference play, and opened BIG EAST play with setbacks against St. John's, Marquette, DePaul and Creighton.

• Through 12 games, senior Frankie Maier leads the Pirates with seven points, earned on two goals and three assists, both standing at team high.Â

• Freshman Siobhan McGovern matches Maier with a team high two goals for four points.

•  Sophomore goalkeeper Anna Maclean has played the bulk of the minute in-frame for the Pirates, playing over 1100 minutes and apperaing in all 12 matches. MacLean has collected 59 saves for a .766 save percentage and allowed 18 goals, for GAA of 1.47.

• The Musketeers lead the all-time series with Seton Hall 2-0-1, dating back to 2013 when Xavier joined the BIG EAST.

• Xavier opened the series with a 2-1 win at home in 2013, marking the first BIG EAST win in program history.
• Last season, Xavier took the 1-0 win in Cincinnati after Kenadie Carlson scored in the 24th minute. Rachel Piccus collected eight saves in-goal to keep the Pirates scoreless.

• The Musketeers fell 1-0 againsnt Marquette at NKU Soccer Stadium on Thursday night.
• The Golden Eagles took the 1-0 lead in the 40th minute after MU's Liz Bartels crossed from the left side just outside the 18 yard box to Leah Celarek who's shot clipped the underside of the cross bar, sneaking into the net for the score.
• The Xavier offense put pressure on the Golden Eagle defense in the second half, creating three great chances to equalize the score.
• In the 58th minute, Skylar Groth and Kenadie Carlson set the ball up on the right side of the field on a breakaway, crossing to Samantha Dewey who was one-on-one with MU's goalkeeper Maddy Henry. Henry slid for the save to keep Xavier scoreless.
•  In the 62nd minute, Ellie Eckerle clipped the pole on a header off a Maddie Tierney free kick from just outside the penalty box, narrowly missing tying the game up.
•  Kenadie Carlson had a one-on-one look with MU's Henry in the 63rd minute, but the Golden Eagles again got the stop on a diving save.
• The Musketeers held the Pirates to a single tally with Rachel Piccus playing the full 90, finishing with five saves. Maddie Tierney and Courtney Kobashigawa played the entire 90 on the back line for the Musketeers to keep Xavier within a tally.

• Through 14 games, Samantha Dewey, the leading points scorer from 2015, has posted a team-leading 16 points off a team-highs in goals (6) and assists (4). Dewey's six total goals ranks T-6th in the BIG EAST. Her point total stands at seventh in the conference.

•  Kenadie Carlson added another point to her total with an assist to Dewey against Providence, bringing her to nine points through 14 games, the second hightest total on the team. Carlson scored the lone goal for the Musketeers at IUPUI to bring her season total to three to go with three assists.
•  Tori Doss has posted eight points through 14 games, the third highest total on the squad. Doss has four goals on the season after she scored the game-winner against Ohio.

• Xavier's 18 goals through 14 games have come from eight different Musketeers. Eight Musketeers have also dished out assists.

• Rachel Piccus has played a team-high 861 minutes in goal, starting 11 of Xavier's 14 matches. Piccus has allowed 15 goals against while collecting 0.754 percent of shots against her for a total of 46 saves. Piccus has picked up four wins on the season, including a pair of shutouts.

• Toni Bizzarro has rotated time at goal with Piccus, starting three games, and coming in during the second half in five others. Through 426 minutes of action, Bizzarro has 21 saves for a 0.750 save percentage while allowing seven goals for a 1.48 GAA. In eight appearances, Bizzarro has picked up a pair of wins.
• In the backfield, Courtney Kobashigawa and Ellie Eckerle have each played over 1100 minutes for the Musketeers through 14 matches. The senior defenders are joined on the back line by Carly Alfano who has played nearly 85 minutes per game in 12 appearances. Junior Maddie Tierney has played every minute of the Musketeers last three matches, totaling 277 minutes on the Xavier backline.

• Five Musketeers have earned weekly awards from the BIG EAST Conference. Most recently, Toni Bizzarro and Kenadie Carlson earned honors for the week of September 12.

• Bizzarro was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after Bizzarro making her first collegiate appearance against NKU on Sept. 6, splitting time with Rachel Piccus in frame in all three of the Musketeers' matches that week to total 135 minutes. In those three appearances, she collected seven saves for a .875 save percentage while allowing only one goal on the way to a 2-0 record.

•  Kenadie Carlson earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after she totaled five points through three games to help the Musketeers to a 2-1 record during that week. After the Musketeers fell behind 1-0 at NKU, Carlson scored her first of the season just out of the halftime break to tie the game which the Musketeers won on a last second goal. Carlson collected another three points in the win at Youngstown State, assisting on Samantha Dewey's goal in the 60th minute and scoring the game-winner in the 73rd. This is Carlson's first weekly award of the season.
• Bizzarro and Carlson join three other Musketeers who have earned weekly awards from the BIG EAST this season. In week one, Rachel Piccus earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors, while Maddie Tierney was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. Samantha Dewey also earned Weekly Honor Roll recognition for the week of Sept. 5.
