Musketeers continue their spring schedule on March 18 against Saint Louis
CINCINNATI – Xavier men's soccer dropped a 2-0 contest against FC Cincinnati on Friday night at the XU Soccer Complex. The Musketeers move to 1-2 on the spring with the loss.
Jimmy McLaughlin gave FC Cincinnati, the newest franchise in the United Soccer League, an early lead with a goal in the 24th minute. He found the back of the net from just outside the top of the box.
Xavier's Derrick Otim nearly scored the equalizer two minutes later with a shot that sailed right of the goal. FC Cincinnati would take its 1-0 advantage into the locker room.
Sean Okoli gave FC Cincinnati its insurance goal in the 50th minute off a ball played from Jamie Dell.
