CAYCE, S.C. – The No. 5 seeded Xavier men's tennis team faces the No. 4 seeded Georgetown in the 2016 BIG EAST Men's Tennis Championship Presented by Jeep Friday evening at 4 a.m. at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center.
The men enter the tournament with an overall record of 11-8 and a BIG EAST record of 3-3. One of those losses is to BIG EAST Quarterfinal opponent Georgetown. The Musketeers faced the Hoyas in March and dropped the close match, 4-3.
Georgetown enters the tournament with an 11-8 overall record and a 3-3 BIG EAST record.
In BIG EAST Championship quarterfinal action, the men are 2-0 since joining the BIG EAST.
The winner will play in the semifinal match Saturday 9 a.m. against the winner of St. John's/Villanova quarterfinal match.
