Jeremy Schneider Named Most Outstanding Singles Player At WMU Invitational

Plenty of bright spots this weekend at Western Michigan.
KALAMAZOO, Michigan – Xavier University senior Jeremy Schneider was named the Most Outstanding Singles Player at the two-day WMU/Vredevelt Invitational, which concluded on Sunday afternoon. Schneider went 2-1 in singles competition for the weekend, grinding out a tough tie break win on Sunday versus the top singles player from Illinois State 6-1, 6-7 (12-10), 10-8.
In doubles, Schneider also enjoyed a winning weekend. Schneider combined with junior Gabriel Araujo to go 2-1 on the weekend, making the team's doubles record 6-4 for the tournament.
Sophomore Jack Dykema also enjoyed a good singles weekend at the tournament, compiling a 2-1 mark.

"We want to get better every tournament we play this fall, and I feel that we did that this weekend," said head coach Doug Matthews. "Our doubles was much improved. I am happy for Jeremy for being the most outstanding player. He works extremely hard and deserves everything good that happens to him."
