KNOXVILLE, TENN. – Xavier completed the ITA Ohio Valley Invitational Championship at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Xavier had one singles main draw and two singles consolation matches. Freshman Brett Winters was the only Musketeer remaining in the singles main draw and was defeated by Robert Herrera if ETSU.
In singles consolation play, Jan Vrba fell to Jorge Alfonzo of Tennessee Tech 6-2, 7-5. Jack Dykema made it to the quarter finals and fell to Tate Allwardt of Vanderbilt.
The ITA Ohio was the final tournament of the fall season. The Musketeers will be back in action in the spring.
Singles Main Draw:
Robert Herrera (ETSU) def. Brett Winters (XU) 6-2, 7-5
Singles Consolation:
Jorge Alfonzo (Tennessee Tech) def. Jan Vrba (XU) 6-3, 6-3
Tate Allwardt (Vanderbilt) def. Jack Dykema (XU) 6-3, 7-5
