Men's Tennis Opens Spring at Western Michigan

Musketeers face Broncos on Sunday at 11 AM
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis prepares to open the spring dual schedule on Sunday, January 14, when the Musketeers travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face the Western Michigan Broncos. The match is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo.Â
The match-up with Western Michigan is the first dual of 2017-18 for the Musketeers, who competed in four invitationals during the fall. XU opened the season at the ATP Invitational in Mason, Ohio in September, then traveled to Kalamazoo for the Western Michigan Invitational the following week. Xavier rounded out its fall schedule with trips to Louisville and Tennessee in mid-October.
The dual is also the first of the spring semester for the Broncos, who, in addition to their home invitational, had competitors in the Oracle ITA Masters, the Toledo Rocket Invite, the ITA All-American, the Bobby Bayliss Invite, the ITA Midwest Regionals and the MAC Invite during the fall.
The last time the two squads met for a dual match was in Spring 2015, where the Musketeers fell 3-4 at the Western Hills Tennis Club in Cincinnati.
Next week, Xavier travels to Ohio State to face the Buckeyes on Saturday, January 20.
