Musketeers Upend Friars in Four Sets on Senior Day

Senior Samantha Foti had 16 digs and 12 kills on Sunday afternoon

CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball posted a four-set win (25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 25-14) over Providence on Sunday afternoon. The match served as Senior Day for the Musketeers' five seniors: Samantha Foti, Lauren Frilling, Kristen Massa, Mackenzi Humm and Alexis Newsome.

NOTABLES

• Audrey Adams posted a career-high 14 kills to pace the Musketeers. She added a team-high .400 hitting percentage.

• Samantha Foti added 12 kills and a team-high 16 digs, her second double-double of the season. Laura Grossman rounded out the Xavier players with double-figure kills with 11.

• Lauren Frilling added nine kills and two blocks, while Alexis Newsome chipped in eight kills and four blocks. Both teams posted five total team blocks.

• Setters McKena Estes and Mackenzi Humm both posted double-doubles. Estes finished with 24 assists and 12 digs, while Humm had 19 assists and 15 digs.

• Meredith Klare added 14 digs and 11 assists. The libero now has 483 assists this season, ranking seventh in XU single-season history. The libero leads the BIG EAST in digs (4.43 d/s).

• Xavier moved to 8-1 in the all-time series against the Friars.
