Women's Tennis Starts Three-Match Road Trip

CINCINNATI – Xavier women's tennis starts a three-match road trip as they head to South Orange, N.J. and face the Providence Friars. The Musketeers successfully opened BIG EAST play last week after defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles with a 5-2 decision. The Musketeers are 6-7 so far, this season and look to claim the seventh victory of the spring.
The Friars are 4-9 overall this season. After coming off an eight-game losing streak, the Friars earned a 4-3 victory over Sacred Heart on March 18.
Senior Sydney Liggins and sophomore Sophia Abelson went 2-0 in their outing against Marquette claiming victories in both singles and doubles. They look to continue this success as they face Providence.
Following the match against Providence, the Musketeers remain in South Orange and face Seton Hall on Sunday, March 26. Seton Hall is 5-5 this season, ending a three-match losing streak as they defeated Villanova on March 17.
The Musketeers then head to Chicago, Ill., on April 1, as they play DePaul before returning to Cincinnati to face cross-town rival University of Cincinnati on April 5.
