Swimming Travels to West Virginia to Face Mountaineers, BIG EAST Foe Seton Hall

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's and women's swimming travels to West Virginia for a tri-meet with the Mountaineers and BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall. Events begin Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and the meet continues on Saturday, with events set to begin at 11:00 a.m. Results will be available through the Meet Mobile app.

OPPONENTS |
- Both Xavier's squads will face West Virginia and Seton Hall.
- WVU opened its season with team wins for the men and women at the West Virginia State Games after the Mountaineers combined to win 39 of 40 events at the two-day meet.
- West Virginia's men and women both finished second in the Big 12 last season.
- WVU's David Dixon Jake Armstrong and Tristen Di Sibio competed at the NCAA Championships on the men's side, while Morgan Bullock and Emma Harris represented the Mountaineer women.
- SHU has opened the season with the women's team going 2-0 with wins over Rider and Montclair State, and the men going 1-1, with a win over Montclair State while falling to Rider.
- Seton Hall's men finished first at the BIG EAST Championships last season, while the women finished third. The Pirates' men's team went on to compete in the inaugural CSCAA National Invite to close the season.
- At last season's two-day meet, Xavier collected three first place finishes.
- Xavier's women picked up the win over Seton Hall and fell to WVU. Xavier's men fell to both SHU and WVU.

WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- The Musketeers were last in action at the Akron Zips Classic. Xavier finished in fifth place with 281 points, topping Cleveland State but falling to Akron, Miami, Cincinnati, and Denison.
- Xavier's women opened the meet by taking in the 400 medley relay, with Ali Fort, Lydia Schaeffer, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners taking seventh.
- Emma Kauffeld led the Musketeers in the 500 free with a time of 5:11.99.
- Alison Herman and Taylor Hogan finished in the top 25 of the 200 IM with a season-best time of 2:09.59.
- Emily Conners set a season-best time in the 50 free, taking seventh. Conners led in five Musketeers among the top 25 finishers.
- Xavier closed the first night with an eighth place finish in the 800 free relay for Emily Conners, Emily Saugstad, Abigail Garner and Katie Kerr.
- Xavier's women opened Saturday with a fifth-place finish in the 200 free relay for Emily Conners, Tianna Vozar, Caroline Gaertner and Abigail Garner.
- Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in the 400 IM, finishing in 13th place. Alison Herman, Emma Kauffeld and Delaney Sprague also posted top 25 finishes.
- Caroline Gaertner finished ninth in the 100 fly. Taylor Hogan, Annie Cummins and Lorelei Gaertner finished in the top 25 also.
- Emily Conners posted a 13th place finish in the 200 fly. Emily Saugstand and Abigail Garner also posted top 25 finishes.
- Lydia Schaeffer led the Musketeers in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.90.
- Caroline Gaertner's time of 56.95 in the 100 back was good for ninth place. Ali Fort, Anne Locker, Laura Dicus and Riece Drew finished in the top 26 in the event.
- The morning session closed with a fifth place finish for Ali Fort, Lydia Schaeffer, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners in the 200 medley relay.
- Tilly Baldwin (11th), Emma Kauffeld (12th) and Becca Titterton (14th) posted top-15 finishes in the mile.
- Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in the 200 back, finishing 13th. Caroline Gaertner touched just behind her in 14th place.
- Emily Conners led Xavier with a sixth place finish in the 100 free.
- Schaeffer also led the Musketeers in the 200 breast, placing 15th. Herman finished 16th.
- Hogan led the Musketeers with a 14th place finish in the 200 breast. Annie Cummins, Maggie Kauffeld and Lorelei Gaertner all finished in the top 25 as well.
- Xavier closed the meet by tying for fifth in the 400 free relay, with Emily Conners, Tianna Vozar, Emily Saugstad and Caroline Gaertner tying Miami with a time of 3:31.76.

- Xavier's men were last in action against at the Akron Zips Classic, where Xavier finished in fifth place with 324 points, behind Miami, Cincinnati, Cleveland State and Denison.
- Xavier's men opened the meet by taking fifth place in the 400 medley relay for Alex Sironen, Matthew Dyer, Brandon Abboud and Ben Quon.
- Ben Quon led four Musketeers in the top 25 in the 500 free with a 16th place finish, using a season-best time of 4:44.63.
- Quon also led the Musketeers in the 200 IM, taking 12th place. Matthew Dyer finished in 14th.
- Enrique Hernandez tied for 18th in the 50 free, leading three Musketeers in the top 30 with a season-best time of 21.76
- Xavier closed the night with a sixth place finish in the 800 free relay for Quon, Jared Ritz, Hernandez and Dyer.
- Chase Baldwin's 17th place finish led three Musketeers in the top 25 of the 400 IM.
- Abboud's 14th place finish in the 100 fly led three Musketeers in the top 25. Landon Clark tied for 19th, and David Bunnell placed 25th.
- Enrique Hernandez tied for 18th in the 50 free, leading three Musketeers in the top 30 with a season-best time of 21.76
- Ben Quon posted a top-10 finish in the 200 free, placing ninth with a time of 1:43.61. Jared Ritz, Enrique Hernandez, Patrick Hackett and Matthew Geraghty finished in the top 25 as well.
- Matthew Dyer posted a top-10 finish in the 100 breast, placing seventh with a time of 58.75. Roark Lundal and Cameron Weese also posted top 25 finishes.
- Alex Sironen's time of 51.79 was good for seventh place in the 100 back. Sam Johanns, Nathan Runyon, Chase Baldwin, Landon Clark, and David Bunnell all finished in the top 20.
- Alex Sironen, Matthew Dyer, Brandon Abboud and Enrigue Hernandez closed the morning session with a fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay.
- Nick Mahoney led off the evening session with a top-10 finish in the mile, placing ninth.
- Alex Sironen placed 10th in the 200 back. Chase Baldwin and Nathan Runyon also posted top-15 finishes.
- Ben Quon finished top-10 in the 100 free, placing ninth. Enrique Hernadez adn Matthew Geraghty finished in the top 15 as well.
- Dyer finished top 10 in the 200 breast, finishing in 9th place.
- Clark collected a top-15 finish in the 200 fly, finishing 11th.
- Xavier closed the night with a fifth place finish in the 400 free relay for Brandon Abboud, Ben Quon, Sam Johanns and Enrique Hernandez.
