School Records Fall During Day Three at the BIG EAST Swimming Championships

Musketeers set new program-best marks in men's 100 back, women's 200 free and women's 400 medley relay
On the women's side, Caroline Gaertner and Paxtyn Drew both set NCAA B-Cut times in the finals of the 100 back, both finishing in the top three. Emily Conners set a new school record in the 200 free during prelims, then set the bar even higher during finals. Conners, Gaertner and Drew combined with Samantha White to set a new school record in the 400 medley relay as well as Xavier remained in fourth place, just eight points shy of third.
On the men's side, Sam Johanns broke his own school record in the 100 back to take third in the championship heat. Matthew Dyer hit the NCAA B-Cut mark in the 100 breast, taking third. Xavier moved past Georgetown into third place to close the evening.

 WOMEN'S NOTABLE |
- Emma Kauffeld, Alison Herman, Maggie Kauffeld and Delaney Sprague competed in the consolation final of the 400 IM. Emma Kauffeld led the Musketeers in with a season-best time of 4:30.51.
- Caroline Gaertner posted the fastest time during the prelims of the 100 fly, finishing in 54.69. In the championship heat, she placed third with a time of 54.91.
- Taylor Hogan also competed in the championship final of the 100 fly, finishing sixth with a time of 55.89.
- Annie Cummins, Anne Locker and Lorelei Gaertner all competed in the B-Final of the 100 fly. Cummins touched the wall first in the heat with a time of 57.12. Locker and Gaertner finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
- Emily Conners broke the school record in the 200 free during prelims, touching the wall in 1:49.71. In the championship heat, she set a new record, finishing third with a time of 1:49.37.
- Katie Kerr finished just behind Conners in the championship heat of the 200 free, placing fourth, and Emily Saugstad finished sixth.
- Abigail Garner competed in the B-Final of the 200 free, finishing 12th with a time of 1:51.74.
- Samantha White qualified for the championship final of the 100 breast, finishing eighth with a time of 1:05.80.
- Becca Titterton and Delaney Sprague competed in the B-Final of the 100 breast, finishing 15th and 16th.
- Caroline Gaertner set an NCAA B-Cut time in the 100 back during prelims, finishing in 54.89 for the second-seed in the championship final. In the finals, she hit the B-Cut mark again, shaving her time down to 54.68, placing second.
- Paxtyn Drew also hit the NCAA B-Cut standard in the 100 back, taking third with a time of 54.97.
- Ali Fort finished and Anne Locker all qualified for the A-Final of the 100 back, finishing fifth and eighth respectively.
- Annie Cummins took part in B-Final of the 100 back, finishing 13th with a time of 58.09.
- Paxtyn Drew, Samantha White, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners closed out the night by setting a new school record in the 400 medley relay, finishing second with a time of 3:43.95.
- The women also competed in one meter diving, Xavier did not field a competitor.
- Xavier inched closer to third-place Seton Hall, trailing by only eight points, 395-387.

 MEN'S NOTABLE |
- Chase Baldwin took part in the championship final of the 400 IM after setting a time of 4:02.11 in the prelims. Baldwin finished eighth in the A-Final with a time of 4:04.21
- Cameron Weese and Bradley Jackson competed in the consolation final of the 400 IM, finishing 12th and 13th, respectively.
- David Bunnell took second in the championship final of the 100 fly with a time of 48.40. Landon Clark also competed in the championship final of the 100 fly, placing sixth.
- Brandon Abboud and Nathan Runyon took part in the B-Final of the 100 fly, finishing 10th and 14th respectively.
- Alex Wolfred finished fifth in championship heat of the 200 free with a time of 1:39.38.
- Jared Ritz used a prelim time of 1:39.36 to qualify for the A-Final, placing eight in the finals.
- Enrique Hernandez competed in the B-Final of the 200 free, finishing 10th with a time of 1:41.21.
- Matthew Dyer took third place in the championship heat of the 100 breast, setting an NCAA B-Cut time of 55.19. Owen Dougherty touched just behind Dyer in fourth with a time of 55.52.
- Robert Snader, Lucas Kokubo and Cameron Weese all competed in the B-Final of the 100 breast, with Snader leading the field in with a time of 56.73. Kokubo placed 14th and Weese finished 15th.
- Sam Johanns upped his own school record in the 100 back, touching the wall in 48.77 to take third. David Bunnell and Nathan Runyon also competed in the championship final of the 100 back, placing fifth and sixth.
- Alex Sironen competed in the B-Final of the 100 back, taking the top spot in the consolation heat with a time of 49.51.
- Xavier's men closed out the day with a third place finish in the 400 medley relay, with Sam Johanns, Dyer, Bunnell and Sironen touching the wall in 3:17.20.
- Xavier moved past Georgetown into third place in the team standings going into the final day of competition.
