 HOW XU SCORED |
FIRST INNINGÂ | Joe Gellenbeck worked a full count with two outs and deposited the payoff pitch over the wall in left center, tying the game at 1-1.
FIFTH INNINGÂ | Matt Warkentin led off the inning with a first pitch homer to left center, making it 7-2 and giving the junior first baseman three homers for the weekend.
EIGHTH INNING | Chris Givin and Conor Grammes started the frame with back-to-back singles and Joe Gellenbeck followed suit to load the bases with nobody out. Batting next, Allbry Major worked a full count and walked to score Givin and prompt a pitching change by the Red Storm. Sam Flamini followed with a single to shallow center to score a run and move everyone up, making it 9-4. The Red Storm would escape the jam, however, with three straight strikeouts.
