GEORGETOWN - Xavier men's tennis fell narrowly at Georgetown, 4-3, on Sunday morning. The Musketeers return home to host Bryant and Richmond next weekend at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Center.

THE MATCH

In doubles, the Hoyas took the point after winning in the No. 1 spot over Jack Dykema and Brett Winters, 6-2, and in the No. 3 spot over Michael Lee and Jan Vrba, 6-2.

Xavier collected three points on singles play. Jack Dykema won in the No. 2 spot, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Matthew Graft won, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, in the No. 3 spot. and Michael Lee won, 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 6 spot.

Georgetown took wins in the No. 1 spot, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, over Brett Winters, and in the No. 4 spot, 7-6, 6-3, over Connor LaFavre.

The final point came down to the No. 5 singles spot, where Jan Vrba took an early lead with a 6-3 win in the first set, but Vrba fell, 6-2, 6-3 in the final two sets to give GU the winning point.
