
Baseball Drops Midweek Matchup Against Miami, 7-4

Allbry Major hit a two-run blast in the bottom of the third.
A solo home-run in the top of the third gave Miami a 1-0 lead. Allbry Major responded when he connected on a two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the third, scoring Jake Shepski. The RedHawks tied the game with a lead-off homerun to start the fourth.
After an intentional walk to load the bases, the RedHawks took back the lead after a hit-by-pitch, 3-2. The rally continued for Miami with a single down the left field line, 4-2. Another single for Miami extended their lead, 5-2.Â
Jack Housinger led off the sixth with a double followed by a Luke Franzoni walk. Conor Grammes singled to left, driving in Housinger 5-3. The RedHawks responded with a two-run homer in the seventh to put them back up 7-3.Â
Natale Monastra went yard in the bottom of the eighth, to bring the deficit within three, 7-4.Â
Xavier continues the homestance, hosting Northern Kentucky on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. Â
