Allbry Major hit a two-run blast in the bottom of the third.

CINCINNATI -- Xavier fell to Miami (OH) Tuesday afternoon, 7-4. The Musketeers fall to 19-25 on the season.

A solo home-run in the top of the third gave Miami a 1-0 lead. Allbry Major responded when he connected on a two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the third, scoring Jake Shepski. The RedHawks tied the game with a lead-off homerun to start the fourth.

After an intentional walk to load the bases, the RedHawks took back the lead after a hit-by-pitch, 3-2. The rally continued for Miami with a single down the left field line, 4-2. Another single for Miami extended their lead, 5-2.

Jack Housinger led off the sixth with a double followed by a Luke Franzoni walk. Conor Grammes singled to left, driving in Housinger 5-3. The RedHawks responded with a two-run homer in the seventh to put them back up 7-3.

Natale Monastra went yard in the bottom of the eighth, to bring the deficit within three, 7-4.

Xavier continues the homestance, hosting Northern Kentucky on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.

XU AT THE PLATE

Jack Housinger gave the Musketeer's its first hit of the game in the bottom of the second, with an infield single. Housinger had a lead-off double in the sixth. The freshman finished the day 2-3.
Allbry Major connected for two-run homer in the third. The sophmore also singled to right in the bottom of the ninth. Major finished 2-5 from the plate.
Matt Warkentin had an infliend single, finishing 1-5 from the plate.
Conor Grammes finished 2-4 from the plate with one RBI and drawing a walk.
Chris Givin ended the day going 1-4.
Natale Monastra connected for a solo homerun in the eighth. Monastra finished the day 1-4.

XU ON THE MOUND

Nick Zwack took the mound in the first, pitching two complete innings with four strikeouts.
Seth Klaiber entered the game in the third, giving up one run on three hits.
Nathan Berg delivered 1.2 innings for Xavier, giving up three hits on 10 batters faced.
Trevor Olson entered in the fifth, pitching two innings with one strike out.
Matt Kent pitched 1.2 innings, striking out three of the eight he faced.
Taylor Williams closed the game for the Musketeers, earning three stikeouts in the ninth.
