Head men's soccer coach Andy Fleming won his 100th career game on Monday Night

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer moved to 2-0 on the year following a 3-0 win over Eastern Illinois on Monday night. Head coach Andy Fleming won his 100th career game as the Musketeers' head coach.

SCORING RECAP

40' | XAVIER | Sophomore Felix Boe-Tangen scored his first goal of the season on a through ball up the middle from freshman Noah Boffo.

68' | XAVIER | Senior Samson Sergi scored off a header pass from Felix Boe-Tangen. The ball was played to Boe-Tangen off a goal kick from Matthew Rosenberg as both players collected an assist on the goal.

73' | XAVIER | Senior Samson Sergi scored from five yards out in front of the goal on a cross played from the left by freshman Noah Boffo.

NOTABLE

• Coach Fleming captured his 100th career win on Monday night. He is the winningest coach in program history with a 100-54-30 (.625) record.

• The Musketeers moved to 20-5-5 (.750) at home since the start of the 2016 season. Xavier also moved to 2-2-1 in the all-time series with the Panthers.

• Senior Samson Sergi scored two goals in the match, moving his season total to three goals. The forward now has four career multi-goal matches.

• Senior Samson Sergi now has 22 career goals, two shy of moving into the all-time top-10 for goals at Xavier.

• Redshirt-junior Matthew Rosenberg (2-0) posted his second shutout in as many matches. He made one save on the night.

• Xavier held an 18-2 advantage in shots and had five more corner kicks (6-1) than the Panthers. Eastern Illinois committed seven more fouls (17-10) than the Musketeers.

• Xavier travels to Cincinnati for the Crosstown Derby on Friday, Sept. 6. The match is being played at Nippert Stadium.
