Women's Tennis Wraps up Opener at Milwaukee Tennis Classic

Roggenburk, a former Ohio Division I Singles State Champion, lost her first matchup of the weekend 1-6, 6-3, 3-6. Roggenburk then won four straight matches before losing narrowly in the final round. She defeated Denise Buberl (LU) 6-2, 6-2, Laura Rico (MU-OH) 6-1, 7-5, Rachel Papvasilopoulos (EIU) 6-1, 6-3, and Karolina Snita (ULM) 6-2, 6-0. Roggenburk then lost to Michigan State's Natalija Popovic 6-3, 6-1 in the championship round.Â
Ahmeir Kyle picked up one win over the weekend against USC's Constance Branstine 6-4, 6-2. Kyle also teamed up with Roggenburk for one doubles match, losing narrowly to Pietrowicz/Lemonds of Michigan State, 9-8.Â
The Musketeers will return to action on Friday, September 27th when they compete in the Hoosier Classic at Indiana University. Competition will continue Saturday, September 28th and will conclude Sunday, September 29th.Â
