Xavier Basketball Announces Training Camp Date

Fans are invited to the open practice on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 3-5 PM
CINCINNATI - Xavier Athletics has announced that this year's "Training Camp" will be held this Saturday, Sept. 28 at Cintas Center from 3-5 p.m. This men's basketball practice is open to all fans and provides a first-look at this year's team.
Doors at the main (south) entrance only will open at 2:45 p.m. The AFO Shop and Concession stands will be open. Fans are encouraged to park in the C-2 Lot in the Cintas Center East Parking Area.
Xavier returns four starters from last year's team that finished 19-16, including seniors Quentin Goodin and Tyrique Jones, and juniors Naji Marshall and Paul Scruggs. The 6-4 Goodin led Xavier in assists for the third straight season, ranking third in the BIG EAST Conference at 4.8 apg., and the 6-9 Jones led XU in rebounding at 7.7 rpg., which ranked fourth in the BIG EAST. Marshall, a 6-7 forward and 2018-19 Second Team All-BIG EAST selection, led Xavier in scoring at 14.7 ppg. (12th in the BIG EAST) and was second in rebounding at 7.2 rpg. (eighth in the BIG EAST) while the 6-4 Scruggs, a 2019 All-BIG EAST Tournament selection, was second on the team in scoring at 12.3 ppg. and was the only Musketeer to start every game in the 2018-19 season. Second-year head coach Travis Steele welcomes seven talented newcomers to the team, including a pair of graduate transfers and a five-member freshman class that is ranked by most experts in the top 20 in the country.
