Henderlong's Early Goal Leads Musketeers to 1-0 Win at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS -Â Freshman Karsen Henderlong's early goal on Tuesday night led the Xavier men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at IUPUI. The Musketeer improved to 4-2-1 on the year, while the Jaguars dropped to 2-3-1.

1' | XAVIER | Freshman Karsen Henderlong scored the lone goal of the match at the 1:28 mark in the first half, finding the back of the net off a pass from Grant Dumler.

• Freshman Karsen Henderlong scored his fifth goal of the season on Tuesday night. He now ranks tied for first on the team in goals with senior Samson Sergi. The assist by Dumler was the first of his Xavier career.
• Redshirt-junior Matthew Rosenberg (4-2-1) posted his third shutout of the season, increasing his career total to 10. The Xavier defense did not allow a shot on goal in the match.
• Xavier held a 13-8 advantage in shots on Tuesday night. IUPUI had one more corner kick (4-3) and committed eight more fouls (17-9).
• Karsen Henderlong, Jacob Goodall and Samson Sergi all had three shots in the match. Cameron Belle added two shots for the Musketeers.
• Xavier improved to 34-22-13 (.587) non-conference action since 2013.Â
• Xavier moved to 5-0-1 all-time against the Jaguars with a 3-0-1 mark when playing in Indianapolis. The Musketeers hold an 11-1 goal differential in the series history.
