Swimming Kicks of 2019-20 Season At Butler Double Dual on Sunday

Men's and Women's Swimming enter the pool for the first time this season in Fishers, Ind.

CINCINNATI - Xavier swimming opens the 2019-20 schedule traveling to Fishers, Ind., to face Butler, Evansville and Saint Louis in the Butler Double Dual. The meet is Sunday, September 29, 2019 starting at 12:00 pm at Fishers High School.

THE MEET

Xavier will face host Butler along with Saint Louis, and Evansville.
At last season's Butler Invite, women's swimming went 4-0 while the men went 2-1.
Overall, the women finished in the top spot for the fourth-straight year, collecting wins over Saint Louis, Evansville, Butler and Eastern Illinois.
The men finished second with team wins over Evansville and Eastern Illinois, falling narrowly to Saint Louis

THE OPPONENTS

BUTLER

Butler, which only fields a women's team finished last season's BIG EAST Championships in sixth place.

SAINT LOUIS

Saint Louis men finished seventh overall of the A10 Championship.
The women finished in the 10^thplace of the 2019 A10 Championship.

EVANSVILLE

Evansville men finished fourth of six at the 2019 MAC Championship.
UE's women finished seventh of eight at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

UP NEXT

The Musketeers return to the water Saturday, October 5 traveling to University of Louisville.

WOMEN'S ROSTER

Xavier's women are coming off their best finish in the BIG EAST since joining the conference in 2013, finishing runners-up to Villanova. The second-place finish matched the program's best finish, a second-place finish in the Atlantic 10 Championships in 2008.
During the 2019 Championship meet, Xavier's women collected the program's first relay championship in the 200 medley relay, marking the first time a BIG EAST team other than Villanova has won a relay in the conference's new configuration.
Xavier's women return seven All-BIG EAST honorees from last season, including Emily Conners, Taylor Hogan, Ali Fort, Emily Saugstad, Lydia Schaeffer, Maureen Cummins and Abigail Garner.
Four All-Conference performers, Caroline Gaertner, Laura Dicus, Katie Kerr and Tianna Vozar, graduated from the 2019 team.
The Musketeers added a class of seven newcomers to the roster.

MEN'S ROSTER

Xavier's men took the top spot in the 2019 BIG EAST Championship, despite not competing in diving, earning the program's fourth BIG EAST Championship in the six years since joining the conference.
The Musketeer men collected six BIG EAST event championships over the course of the four-day meet, including four of the five relays.
Xavier's men return seven All-Conference honorees, Brandon Abboud, Landon Clark, Ben Quon, Jared Ritz, Alex Sironen, Christian Thomas and Cameron Weese.
The Musketeers had five All-BIG EAST performers, David Bunnell, Matthew Dyer, Enrique Hernandez, Sam Johanns an Nathan Runyon graduate from the 2019 team.
Xavier added a freshman class of nine to the roster.
