Swimming Travels To Indiana For Butler Invite Sunday Afternoon.

Xavier is one of six teams competing in the invite.
CINCINNATI –Swimming travels to Fishers, Indiana on Sunday afternoon to compete in the 11thannual Butler Invite. The meet is set to start at noon with swimmers participating from St. Louis, Youngstown State, Eastern Illinois, Ball State and Butler.

OPPONENTS |
- On the women's side, Xavier will compete against St. Louis, Youngstown State, Eastern Illinois, Ball State and Butler.
- Xavier's men will compete against St. Louis, Youngstown State, Eastern Illinois, and Ball State.
- Last time out, St. Louis women defeated Evansville before falling to Missouri.
- On the men's side, the Billiken also topped Evansville and fell to Missouri.
- St. Louis sent two swimmers for the U.S Olympic Trials, clocking times second in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
- The Musketeers faced Youngstown State earlier this season in the CSU Magus Cup. Xavier defeated Youngstown State on both the men's and women's side.
- Youngstown State men's squad heads into the Butler Invite after winning a pair of events against Mount Union.
EASTERN ILLINOIS
- Earlier this season, Eastern Illinois fell to Butler, St. Louis and Ball State.
- Last time out, the Panthers swept Western Illinois University and Valparaiso University
- Eastern Illinois is set to host Lewis University prior to competing in the Butler Invite
- Ball State finished fifth at the Butler Invite last season.
- Last weekend, the Cardinals took a third-place finish, out of five, in the Miami Invitational with a combined 1,041.5 points.
- BSU was picked to finish fifth in the MAC this season.
- Last time out, Butler women placed eighth in the House of Champions hosted by IUPUI, scoring 433 points and topping Eastern Illinois.
- This is the Bulldog's first competition since November.
- Butler women will face Eastern Illinois next weekend, before competing in the BIG EAST.

WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- Last weekend, Xavier Women faced off against crosstown rival, University of Cinncinnati.
- Xavier women kicked off the event with the 200 Medley, Ali Fort, Lydia Schaeffer, Taylor Hogan and Emily Conners touched the wall second, timing at 1:45.66.
- Emma Kauffeld competed in the 1650-free, finishing in third, earning three Musketeer points.
- Emily Conners came in a close third for the 200-free, 1:54.11.
- Brooke Atkins took Xavier's first top finish of the evening in the 100-yard touching the wall at 57.92.
- Lydia Schaeffer placed fourth in the 100 breaststrokes, finishing at 1:07.85.
- Taylor Hogan finished in a close second in the 200-butterfly, 2:05.91.
- Emily Conners took the second top finish for the Musketeers. Conners placed in front in the 50-free, 23.89.
- In the next event, Emily Conners took first again in the 100-free. Conners touched the wall at 52.21.
- Ali Fort finished in second for the 200-back, timing at 2:08.12.
- In the 200 breast, Kelly Harris earned a second place finish for the Musketeers, 2:24.29 Allison Herman came in third and Lydia Schaefferended in a three-way tie for fourth between two Bearcats.
- Sophia Romero finished in fourth in the 500 free. Romero had a time of 5:19.68.
- Lorelie Gaertner finished in a close second of the 100 butterfly.
- In the 400 IM race, Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in fourth, finishing in front of Alison Herman. Hogan clocked a time of 4:34.81.
- In the 400 free relay, Clare Bosse, Maureen Cummins, Emily Saugstad and Erin Merke finished in second.
- The Musketeers fell to the Bearcats, 208-83.

MEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- On the men's side, Alex Sironen, Jon Bernard, Brandon Abboud and Christian Thomas earned a third-place finish, touching the wall at 1:33.47.
- Nick Mahoney came in third, at 16:31.83, in the men's version of the 1650 free.
- Xavier took second and third in the 200 free. Andrew Martin lead the Musketeers placing second, 1:41.07. Ben Quon finished behind Martin at 1:42.69.
- Jon Bernard finished third in the 100-yard at 51.51.
- Roark Lundal finished in fourth for the Musketeers in the 100-breaststroke, 58.27.
- Brandon Abboud ended the 200-butterfly, finishing in third. Abboud timed out at 1:56.06.
- Christian Thomas also took a top finish in the 50 free, finishing at a top speed of 21.15.
- Christian Thomas fell short of the first-place spot, finishing in second. Thomas timed out at 46.40. Brandon Abboud took fourth, in front of fifth place Ethan Wing.
- Jon Bernard finished in third in the 200 back, 1:52.92.
- Will Serad finished in fourth in the 200 breaststroke. Roark Lundal came in fifth.
- Andrew Martin came in third for Xavier racing in the 500 free. Martin finished at 4:37.98.
- Joey Mullen placed fourth in the 100 butterfly, 52.17.
- In the men's 400 IM, Jon Bernard earned a top finish, touching the wall 4:01.79, five seconds ahead of Cincinnati's top finisher.
- Ben Quon, Matthew Geraghty, Alex Sironen and Andrew Martin finished in the 400 free relay claiming third at 3:07.72.
- Xavier fell to Cinicinnati, 223-70
