Men's Tennis Hosts St. John's and George Washington This Weekend

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's tennis returns to action on Friday, February 21st and Saturday, February 22nd as they take on St. John's and George Washington. The match against St. John's is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, while the matchup with George Washington will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

THE OPPONENT: ST. JOHN'S |
- The Red Storm finished the 2018-19 season with a 19-6 record and went 4-0 in regular season conference play. All six of their losses came on the road.
- Last season, St. John's defeated Xavier in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tennis Championships.

- In doubles, Matthew Graft and Shashank Reddy fell in the No. 2 spot, 6-1. Indiana then secured the doubles point after defeating Brett Winters and Srdan Pejic, 6-2, in the No. 1 spot. Jan Vrba and Michael Lee trailed in the No. 3 spot, 4-1, when the doubles point was decided.
- In singles, Indiana claimed the No. 5 spot in a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jan Vrba. The Hoosiers picked up their third point after defeating Matthew Graft in the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 6-2. Indiana secured the win in the No. 1 spot, defeating Brett Winters, 6-3, 6-2. Aaron Thompson, Srdan Pejic and Shashank Reddy all trailed when the final point was decided.
