Women's Tennis Returns to Action this Weekend

CINCINNATI – Xavier women's tennis returns to action this weekend on Friday, February 21st and Sunday, February 23rd. The Musketeers will travel to Miami (Ohio) for a match in Oxford set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday. Xavier will then hit the road, traveling to Cleveland for a matchup with the Vikings of Cleveland State. The match Sunday is set to being at 1 p.m.

THE OPPONENT: MIAMI (OHIO) |
- Miami finished last season with a 12-11 record last year and won seven matches at home.
- Last season, the Musketeers defeated the RedHawks, 6-1, on Feb. 17. This gave Miami one of their two home losses last year.
- Historically, Xavier holds a 7-6 advantage over Miami dating back to their first meeting in 2005. Xavier won their first match against the RedHawks, 4-3, in Oxford.
- Miami has begun the 2019-20 season with a 3-3 record. This will be their first home match of the season.

THE OPPONENT: CLEVELAND STATE |
- The Musketeers are 1-1 against Cleveland State all time dating back to 2012. Xavier won the last matchup, 6-1, at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club on Feb. 15, 2013.
- The Vikings will take on BIG EAST member Seton Hall at home on Feb. 16
- Cleveland State has opened the 2019-20 season with a 5-2 overall record. The Vikings are 4-1 at home so far this season, losing only to Bowling Green on Feb. 9.
