Garrett Schultz RBIs in 4th-straight game to lift Xavier over the Dirtbags
LONG BEACH, CA - Garrett Schultz's 11th-inning home run lifts Xavier over No.17 Long Beach State 2-1. The Dirtbags took an early lead in the bottom of the 3rd when a single scored one run, but Monastra stopped a second from scoring with a tag at home plate. Xavier wasted no time responding, as Ryan Altenberger tripled on the first pitch of the 4th, and Schultz drove him in with an RBI single on the next pitch. The game remained tied until Schultz homered with two outs in the 11th to give Xavier the go-ahead run and lead them to the upset victory.Â
The Musketeers return to the diamond for a midweek contest against USC on Tuesday, March 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET
