Matthew Rosenberg posted a season-high six saves on Saturday night

STORRS, Conn. - Xavier men's soccer picked up a 2-1 win at UConn on Saturday night at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium at the Rizza Performance Center.

The Musketeers improved to 9-7 (3-6 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Huskies dropped to 7-6-2 (2-5-2 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE

• Karsen Henderlong scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 65th minute. He now has 22 career goals. The forward added an assist, his fourth of the season and the seventh of his career.

• Bryce Curran scored his first goal of the season and the fourth of his career, finding the back of the net in the fifth minute. The goal in the fifth minute was the quickest goal in a match this season for the Musketeers.

• Bryce Curran, Karsen Henderlong and Taylor Rhinehart each had three shots to pace the Musketeer attack. Henderlong led the team in shots on goal with two.

• UConn took four more shots (15-11) than Xavier and had four more corner kicks (6-2). Xavier committed three more fouls (18-15) than the Huskies.

• Matthew Rosenberg earned the win in goal for the Musketeers, posting a season-high six saves.

• Seven Musketeers played all 90 minutes: Matthew Rosenberg, Taylor Crull, Cameron Belle, Pol Hernandez, Karsen Henderlong, Payton Miller and Jansen Miller.
