Series finale set for tomorrow at 1 PM ET
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Xavier baseball used one swing of the bat to move to 2-0 on the season, sweeping the season-opening doubleheader at Texas A&M on Saturday. A two-run homer from Jonathan Kelly in the fourth inning would be all offense the Musketeers would need in the 2-0 win.
Xavier's pitchers allowed only three hits combined, paced by starter Nick Zwack who went 5.0 scoreless innings, striking out eight and not allowing a hit. The Musketeers combined for 11 strikeouts.
The Musketeers and Aggies will wrap up the series on Sunday, starting at 1:00 p.m. ET. Tonight's win secured the series win for Xavier, the program's first series victory over an SEC opponent.
4TH INNING | Jack Housinger led off the inning with a walk. With two outs, Jonathan Kelly homered to right field to put Xavier ahead 2-0.
